Little inferno endings series#
In the spirit of my previous interview series at Dork Shelf, I interviewed a few writers, developers, and journalists in games, asking them for their thoughts on what makes a good video game ending. Rather than focusing on the bad stuff, I was curious about what made video game endings succeed for different people. So I did what I always do when something in video games bothers me: I talked incessantly about it with my friends. Necromoon, to me, is a heavy, existentially terrifying culmination of the Marker’s powers. On the other hand, I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Dead Space 3’s finale. What should have been a terrifying, amplified version of a necromorph was instead a weird, colourful sunflower monster that was more annoying than frightening.
They feel vaguely unfulfilling and never really worth the effort, and for me, there is no better example than the boss fight in the original Dead Space. I suggest to let the last achievement to be one of the last 3 scenes with the girl of your choice.Bad endings in video games have always bothered me. Also the achievement unlocks at the end of the episode in which the scene is obtained, so be careful, as you could unlock the last scene and quit the game with the possibility of bugging the achievement (not sure of that). This one requires more than one playthrough because of you needing a perfect relation with the 3 main girls, meaning 4+ pancakes before the sex scenes. ✦ Keep picking first option until “Angela/Hedwig/Both” choice. At the end of the game you will find Ana and the achievement will unlock. Just listen to her and accept having sex with her, then at Megan’s audition she will walk away, but you will be able to stop her and make things right with her. With the same file were you follow the 3 main rules mentioned in section 1 it is possible to end up with Ana. She will not care if you did have sex with all the other women as long as you keep being nice to her until the very end. After that just be sure to stalk Rena in every chance you have.

Be sure to follow the 4 pancake rule to unlock the full sex scene with Rena at the cabin. This achievement should be obtained on a separate playthrough (for practicity). But if you don’t follow the suggested strategy in the first section, you will not unlock the last sex scene for Megan or Melissa (scenes are required to unlock the “Been there, done that” achievement. Regardless of your choices, as long as you don’t choose Rena, this achievement will unlock at the end. You need to tell them that you love them. (Otherwise the police officer will kill him) This will trigger the scene in chapter 7 where you will have to decide if you kill Peter or nah. If your relationship with Liam is good enough, he will answer your call right after you met Ana. At the very end of the game the achievement will unlock. She will not die during the Megan/Leah/You scene (you will see her fleeing from the room). Leah will get shot unless you shoot Peter and leave the gun to frame his suicide. Don’t tell her about Megan living with you and in Episode 7 don’t comfort Megan to make sure you have sex once again with Leah, and don’t have anal sex with her. Once again follow the 3 rules mentioned in section 1, but this time make sure you are flirting enough with Leah (you must get 4 pancakes with her before having sex in the bathroom to unlock the full scene with her).
